Saxenburg Guinea Fowl Red 2015

This classic blend with a good colour shows a nice combination of dark and red fruit with dark cherry and plum more prominent. Medium bodied with good subtle oak to complement the wine. It has a good mid palate with creamy tannins ending with a fresh acidity. It is ready to enjoy now but will mature into a more complex wine.

Officially proclaimed in 1693, Saxenburg is one of the oldest farms in South Africa. The terroir at Saxenburg is perfectly suited to Shiraz and it is thanks to this varietal that Saxenburg has become a prominent South African export. Thanks to their wine maker’s belief that exceptional wines are made on the vine, we practise a well-managed system of summer pruning to keep yields low.
