Fiery blackcurrant, with indications of dried herb and woodsmoke. An intense exertion. Matured in Qvevri and after that matured in barriques – however pleasantly done and great coordinated.

An altogether present day, however, controlled and very exquisite articulation of the Saperavi grape assortment. It's made by Telavi in Kakheti – the biggest of the nation's wine areas, in the east, sandwiched among Azerbaijan and Russia. This is the winery's top wine, matured in Qvevri (an egg-molded earthenware pot) covered in the ground and after that matured in new French oak. This is superb stuff. Exquisite yet rich cherry and berry organic product with a smooth surface and an unpretentious smoothness from the new oak.
