Rolly Gassmann Pinot Blanc 2011

Pale yellow straw. Sweet, fragrant nose with a hint of botrytis, white flower & honey. A velvety texture with a rich mouthfeel and a soft acidity to balance its sweetness of fruit. It offers aromas and flavors of apricot, pear, orange, grapefruit, and marzipan. The wine's luscious ripe fruit lingers long on the finish. A seductive wine. The Gassmann family has been making wine in Rorschwihr since 1676. The family tree goes back to 1611 for the Gassmann from Rodern and 1676 for the Rolly from Rorschwihr. It's a common mistake to think there is a Mr. Gassmann whose first name is Rolly. The Rolly Gassmann estate was created in 1967 when Marie-Therese Rolly married Louis Gassmann. The estate is situated just north of Colmar and the cellar is found in the tiny village of Rorschwihr.
