Rei Kumesen Bushido Series Pure Malt Whiskey
Kumesen Syuzo was founded in 1952, getting their start in distilling producing Awamori, a distilled alcoholic beverage indigenous made with Indica rice and unique to Okinawa islands of Japan, also known as Ryuku islands. Around 1989, this innovative distillery started to mature their spirit in oak barrels, creating a unique kind of ji-whisky in its own category.
Known by whisky experts for its resemblance to the Nikka Pure Malt. REI has very low phenol levels, followed by well-balanced notes of tropical fruit sweet character. Extraordinarily smooth this easy sipper has no alcohol burn. This is a signature Japanese whisky from the low peat to the fruity pineapple flavors. Rei translates in English as respect, and comes as this producer’s 3rd virtue.
