Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Montee De Tonnerre 2015

It is really a shame that so much of the family’s Montée de Tonnerre was wiped out by the hail of early September, as the wine has turned out truly beautifully in this vintage. The bouquet is a touch more reserved out of the blocks than the previous premier crus, offering up scents of pear, lemon, flinty minerality, spring flowers and incipient notes of beeswax. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and displays excellent nervosité, with a rock solid core, fine focus and grip and a very long, zesty and complex finish.
