Pinuaga Nature 2013
Nice, very clean, and attractive burgundy red, well covered with light violet hues. Bursting with fruity aromas (strawberries and gooseberries), very characteristic of tempranillos. On the palate, it is sweet, balanced, and has a fruity depth. This wine is ideal for all sorts of Mediterranean food, including all types of salads, rice dishes, and dishes that have some sweet component.
100% Tempranillo, certified organic. Since Valentin Pinuaga Salazar founded this small estate back in the 1960s with sustainable farming always an obsession. Today the winery is run by Valentin and Esther Pinuaga—second and third generation of this family of traditional winemakers. The vineyards and the winery are located in Corral de Almaguer, Toledo, a privileged site 2,362 feet above sea level, and surrounded by Mediterranean oak forests. The continental climate, with pronounced changes in day-and-evening temperatures, boosts the unique personality of the land and enhances the quality of the vines. It favors the growth of autochthonous grape varieties, allowing the production of varietally expressive wines. Amongst these grape varieties, 49 acres of Tempranillo and Merlot vines are grown, which are different in age, soil, altitude, and orientation.
