Morgante Don Antonio 2013
Deep purple color. Layered aromas of luscious, ripe black cherry, raspberry, black plum, and wildflowers, followed by spicy notes of chocolate, black pepper, and cinnamon. A great match with hearty foods, roasted red meats and pork, grilled pork chops, barbecued ribs, aged cheeses, or rodizio.
The Morgante winery is located in the pristine countryside of southern Sicily, a hilly region located just 45 miles from the splendid Valley of the Temples of Agrigento. The property is comprised of 500 acres of vineyards and almond trees with a Mediterranean climate and soil that ranges from clay and calcareous to marl, which is ideal for viticulture. Morgante represents one family's initiative to employ five generations of viticultural experience. In 1994, Antonio Morgante with the enthusiasm of his sons, Carmelo and Giovanni, decided to vinify their vineyard grapes.
