Frescobaldi Remole Toscana 2022
A rich, luminous ruby of appealing depth announces an equally complex nose, which reveals multifaceted aromas of red and dark fruit, such as dried plum, blackberry, cassis, and red currant, lifted by spicier impressions of black pepper and licorice.
The entry is velvety and warm and the components on the palate are well balanced, with a tasty vein of acidity. The finish has a long and very fruity aftertaste. Enjoy it with charcuterie that is not too spicy or with full-flavored pasta dishes such as all'Amatriciana.
85% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Since 1300, Frescobaldi is a Florentine family with thirty generations dedicated to the production of great Tuscan wines in five estates in Tuscany, and a quality distribution network in over 65 countries worldwide. The Remole label represents the ancient coat of arms of Marchesi de' Frescobaldi, with the aristocratic crown at its center. Remole is a very well-known name in Tuscany, historically tied to an area east of Florence where important projects were realized by the Frescobaldi family's ancestors: In 1300 they commissioned the Gualchiere di Remole, one of the largest Tuscan pre-industrial factories for wool production located along the Arno River. Later in the 1600s, Villa di Poggio was founded in Remole and is home to the family's historic archives. In the 1700s, the kiln or "Fornace di Remole" was built to produce bricks, roofing, and floor tiles that still decorate many Florentine homes today. There is also the fascinating Medieval church of San Giovanni in Remole, a 1000-year-old artistic and cultural heritage of Tuscany.
