The Producer - The Nolet distillery was founded over 300 years ago in 1691 by Joannes Nolet. This was the beginning of a long family tradition of distilling expertise. Carolus Nolet created Ketel One Vodka in 1983 and released it in the U.S. The vodka's name comes from the Dutch word "Distilleerketel" meaning "pot still". Ketel One Vodka is probably one of the only in the world that was named after a key element in the production process. Each bottle of Ketel One is designed in the style of an original Dutch-stone spirit bottle. The illustration on the front is hand-drawn, and depicts the original copper-pot still, which the vodka is named after. The bottle also shows the Nolet iconic family crest, which goes back centuries in time. The unicorn on the crest means "The lions only fear", in ancient mythology.
