Fred Loimer Lois Gruener Veltliner 2015
Pale yellow color, it is purely aromatic and lively! Lovely aromas of fresh apples and citrus, this wine surprises on the palate with great spice components as well as exotic fruit and a refreshing acidity. To be enjoyed either on its own, as an apertif or with light dishes.
100% Gruener Veltliner. Weingut Loimer, founded in 1962 by Fred Loimer, is located in the town of Langenlois, Austria. In 1998, one year after the winery was handed over from father to son, Fred Loimer Jr. bought a historical vaulted brick cellar—a former cellar of the Haindorf Castle in the middle of the grapevines between Langenlois and Zobing. With the help of Architect Andreas Burghardt, he renovated the cellar adding a minimalist building above to serve as the tasting room and office. Lois (pronounced 'LOYS') is the locals' abbreviation for Langenlois—the winery's hometown. Incomparable attractive spiciness paired with fresh notes of exotic fruit and the typical vibrant acidity of the Danube region, this is the Gruener Veltliner for many occasions, a boundless pleasure, and a special drinking experience!
