Francois et Julien Pinon Vouvray Silex Noir 2025

Domaine François et Julien Pinon Vouvray "Silex Noir" is a 100% Chenin Blanc from a family estate that has been crafting wine in Vernou-sur-Brenne since 1786. Its name comes from the rare black flint (silex noir) found in the two south-facing parcels that supply the fruit, soils that drain well and lend the wine its signature mineral edge.

The grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed, then fermented slowly over two to three months with native yeasts in a cold cellar, with no added sugar. The result is an elegant, off-dry white layered with apple, pear, quince, honey, and citrus, balanced by bright acidity and a chalky, flinty finish. It's a beautiful match for seafood, light Asian dishes, or fruit-based desserts like tarte tatin.
