Edmunds St. John Heart of Gold 2018
Blend | California | United States
The eleventh vintage of this wine! Fenaughty Vineyard, at roughly 2800 feet elevation, is located in the Apple Hill District above Placerville, in El Dorado County. The soil at Fenaughty is Aiken-Loam, a dark-red, well-drained soil type of volcanic origin.
The final blend is 67% Vermentino, 33% Grenache Blanc; the fruit is whole-cluster pressed into tank. Fermented to completion at dryness; no malolactic fermentation. The wine remained on primary lees until the end of January, then racked and returned to tank until bottling.
