Durbanville Hills Winery Rhinofields Pinotage 2012
Dark ruby with a deep purple tinge. Concentrated blackcurrant aromas with layers of vanilla, cherries and cinnamon, and a hint of tobacco. A rich and velvety character fills the mouth with sweet wood spice backed by silky tannins. Serve with roast beef, roasted duck with black cherry sauce, fillet mignon, barbequed meat, camembert, or unaged gouda.
The Rhinofields range pays tribute to the indigenous Renosterveld vegetation found only in a select area of the rolling Durbanville Hills. Named after the rhinos that once roamed these hills, this staggering bulb diversity thrives in the unique Cape microclimate. It is here that you'll find the maritime vineyards specially reserved for these fine wines. On these slopes they have such a rich diversity fo terroirs that each vineyard produces fruit with a distinctly individual character. It is from this full specimen of flavors that Durvanvill Hills Winery makes their rich Pinotage with its raspberry flavors and smooth, sweet clove bouquet.
