Domaines Lapalu Chateau Patache d'Aux 2013
To produce the wine of Chateau Patache d’Aux, the vinification takes place in a combination of wood, cement and stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in tank. The wines are aged in an average of 33% new, French oak barrels for 12 months before bottling.
Chateau Patache d’Aux found the inspiration for its name from the original owners of the estate, the Chevaliers d’Aux, who created the property all the way back in 1632. Like many Bordeaux chateau, the estate was confiscated during the French Revolution. Chateau Patache d’Aux was eventually purchased by Claude Lapalu and Guy Pages. Guy Pages was the owner of the neighboring estate, Chateau Tour de by. Today, the estate of Patache d’Aux is managed by Jean Michel Lapalu. Under the guidance of Jean Michel Lapalu, who created the holding company Domaine Lapalu, they have managed to become the largest produces of Bordeaux wine that comes from the Medoc and Haut Medoc today. Domaine Lapalu owns more than 25 different properties in the Left Bank .
