Domaine Remi Jobard Meursault 1er Cru le Poruzot-Dessus 2012
Organic wine made with chardonnay grapes. The color is light yellow with slightly golden reflections. The nose has a beautiful aromatic intensity, high purity. The mouth is powerful mineral notes very nice, with good volume and good balance.
Remi Jobard is the son of Charles Jobard, the brother of Francois Jobard, and this domaine, now being run by Remi is truly a family run operation. The three Premier Crus are also exceptional for their expressiveness, yet add to this their weight and character. The Genevrieres parcel of Jobard's is very old vines and here Jobard makes his most mineral, terroir-filled Meursault. To capture all of the texture and nuance Remi now bottles all of his wines without filtration 16 months after vintage. He does the longest fermentation in Meursault—two months long! To enhance the mineral character over sweetness or bitterness, Remi ages all his wines in tight-grained 1200L Stockinger barrels from Austria.
