Three distinct vineyards in our complex mountain region come together in this blend. R bar R Ranch is our coolest site, offering crisp flavors of toast, apples and a subtle note of flint. Our Estate vineyard, growing in lean sandy soil at an elevation of nearly 2200 feet, lends concentrated orange and apricot characters and an unctuous mouthfeel.
These wines are barrel fermented in French oak and aged sur-lies for ten months to add richness and toast flavors to the wine. We find the fruit intensity of our chardonnay increases with bottle age, and while the wine is pleasant now, expect it to grow more complex for the next few years.
