Chateau Maine d'Arman Cotes de Bourg 2015
Blend | France
A surprisingly smooth Bordeaux. Great vanilla -almost creamy - taste to it from the oak, but none of the wood taste you often get with something heavily oaked.
Built in the 16th Century, Chateau Maine d’Arman was restored in the 18th Century in the Louis XIII style. The Bassereau family acquired the property in 1900, and have managed it ever since. The Vineyard is in the heart of the Cotes de Bourg, on one of the highest points. It is 8 Hectares in size, on Red Gravels and Clay on chalky subsoils. Their wines are primarily Merlot, with Cabernet and small amounts of Malbec blended in. The wines are aged for 12 months in oak.
