After that date, it passed through numerous owners until it was purchased in 1995 by Jean-Claude Rouzaud. Roederer Champagne house, also owns Pichon Comtesse de Lalande, Chateau Bernadotte, and Chateau Haut Beausejour which is also located in St. Estephe. Chateau de Pez is the oldest Bordeaux wine making estate in St. Estephe. Created in 1452 by Jean de Briscos, the Bordeaux wine property was later owned by the Pontac family, who were best known for forming Chateau Haut Brion. The chateau became the property of the state after the French Revolution.
