Domaine Claude Riffault is located in Sury-en-Vaux, in the heart of the Sancerre appellation in the Loire Valley. The estate is managed by Stéphane Riffault , representative of the 4th generation. He trained in Burgundy and at Château Angélus in Bordeaux.

He and his son, Jean, were some of the first students to graduate from Dijon University under the oenology program, and soon after they made their last name famous in the wine world.

The tequila is aged entirely in French Oak barrels sourced from wine regions including Burgundy, Bordeaux, Loire Valley, and Napa before being finished in an Oloroso sherry cask.
