Mukuzani is an excellent wine from Georgia, made from Saperavi sort of vine, cultivated in the Mukuzani micro-zone of the Kakhetian region. The wine is aged in an oak barrel and has a dark ruby color with oak flavor, spicy taste and saturated flavor.
The nose is zippy with citrus aromas of lemon and tangerine, stone fruits and toasted oak. The medium-weight palate is marked by refined minerality and oak supporting a ripe palate of pear, lemon cream and fresh apple flavors.
Notes of lime and lemon pith, some herbaceous notes, a touch of saline, earthy minerals, followed by a bit of white peach with mouth-watering acidity and a moderately long finish.
The 2021 growing season was preceded by mild and dry winter weather from January through March. Winter rainfall was largely absent across Northern California and the Napa Valley entered the growing season with rain totals that ranged from 40 to 60% below normal and had temperatures that were two to three degrees warmer than average.
