Kentucky Owl Bourbon was founded in 1879 by C.M. Dedman on the banks of the Kentucky River. The distillery produced “The Wise Man’s Bourbon” for decades until its long and storied history was interrupted by Prohibition. Fortunately, the Kentucky Owl brand was relaunched with Batch #1 in 2014.
This exceptional full-flavored product is aged twice as long as our flagship bourbon and bottled at 100 proof, offering a complex yet balanced liquid profile. Our bourbon owes its rich copper color and deep notes of caramelized oak to its extensive aging in our Kentucky rackhouses.
Launched in 2023, Daniel Weller is an experimental line exploring the impact of different strains of wheat on its storied bourbons, inspired by and named after the trailblazer of the Weller family. This exciting extension of the original wheated bourbon brand demonstrates Buffalo Trace Distillery’s excellence in innovation while honoring a forefather of American whiskey, Daniel Weller – grandfather to William Larue Weller – and the family distilling traditions he passed down to the generations of whiskey pioneers that followed him.

One of the real fathers of bourbon is Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr. He was adopted by his uncle, Edmund Haynes Taylor Snr., who rechristened him as his junior, after becoming an orphan at the age of five in 1830. Due to his honorary title of Kentucky Colonel, E.H. Taylor Jr. is also referred to as Colonel Taylor. Taylor established and owned seven distinct distilleries throughout the course of his career, and because of his advocacy for the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897, he is regarded as "the father of modern bourbon."

Jim Beam Black is a premium bourbon that is, and always will be, extra-aged for taste and bottled only when it's just right. Jim Beam Black has a balanced, rich, and flavorful character with a deep mix of oak, cinnamon, and vanilla aromas. The result of the extra-aging is a full-bodied bourbon with an extra level of elegance and refinement that's meant to be sipped and savored. Enjoy Jim Beam Black neat, on the rocks, or in a cocktail - either way, this refined whiskey pleases with every sip. And, of course, just like our original Jim Beam, it's best when shared with others.
