Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno is an old school estate that is back on the rise in Piedmont. One of the oldest estates in Piedmont and the first estate on the now famed Cannubi hill. Dignitary Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from grapes grown at the base of Chalk Hill, where a slightly warmer climate and rich volcanic soils create ideal conditions for the clone. The wine is aged unfiltered for 18 months in French oak barrels. On the palate, luscious aromas of dark fruit leading to elegant layers of blackberry, black cherry and hints of spice and warm saddle leather on the nose, with a lasting and well balanced finish.
The Psagot Prat is a red port wine made from grapes grown in the Judean Hills. The color is a dark purple, with floral notes of dark fruit, chocolate, and rose pedals. The wine is aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, which adds nice vanilla oak flavors to the complex fruit flavors. Tasting notes include blackberry, plum, cranberry, coffee, and chocolate. The oak also smooths over the mouth feel and leaves the wine supple with velvety tannins.
One-hundred percent Cabernet Sauvignon from the Gandona Estate up on Pritchard Hill, aged for 20 months in 73% new French oak, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is very deep garnet-purple colored with an intense nose of crème de cassis, blueberry pie and chocolate-covered cherries with wafts of red roses, star anise, cloves, cigar box and tilled loam.
