Aged a minimum of 6 months in old French or American oak, our traditional wine seeks to bring back the tastes of past years in a fresh and frisky sip of wine. A wine for everyday and for everyone.
Produced from Cabernet Franc that is grown in siliceous-limestone soils. The grapes are de-stemmed and then fermented in stainless steel vats. The maceration lasts about ten days and the fermentation temperature is controlled. The objective is to produce an expressive wine not burdened by harsh tannins.
The 2020 Great Sage is crafted from small lots of Cabernet Sauvignon from mountain and hillside vineyards in Northern Napa Valley. Whole berry fermented, cave-aged in 100% French Oak for two years, this wine is bottled unfiltered to retain its natural character.
This top quality wine is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot.
Dry red wine. The grapes were harvested from the oldest of the winery's plots. Aged for about 22 months in French oak barrels, most of them new. Characterized by an extremely high acidity level, allowing the wine to continue to age for years. The wine has an 'old world' substance, and is suitable for heavy meat meals.
L'Ancien comes from Jean Paul's oldest vines--hence the name of the wine--in his home village of Charnay in the southern Beaujolais. They range in age from 40 to 60 years old and are planted on slopes sporting the area's signature sandy clay-limestone soils, featuring the particular local "dorée" or "golden" limestone that is laden with iron.
