Step into a world of rich flavors with The Macallan's newest addition to the 'Distill Your World' range. Inspired by Mexico's vibrant culture and traditions, this edition was created in collaboration with the world-famous Roca brothers of El Celler de Can Roca.
“Madly sited”, perched high between two mountain ranges on a pass once a meeting point for cattle drovers on their way to market. The name Dalwhinnie translates from Gaelic as “Plain of Meetings”. Surviving periods of closure, the distillery has produced its distinctive single malt since 1947, only being completely modernized in 1996. Dalwhinnie has the coldest annual mean temperature of any inhabited place in Scotland and is so cold in winter, that the water in the outside worm tubs can freeze. That very coldness lends an intensity to the spirit that is even more marked in winter.
Shimmering gold. Floral and malty with summer fruits, gentle sweetness and subtle vanilla. Refined for its age with ripe fruit notes accompanied by smooth vanilla sweetness. Full and rich with hints of oaky-spice.
Rich and Creamy, there are notes of roasted nuts, cereals and dried fruits. Sweet, soft and exceptionally well rounded. Mouthwarming with hints of soft fruits, leather and toffee. Long with a lingering sweetness which fills the mouth.
Released to celebrate the new Macallan distillery and visitor centre, this stunning limited edition single malt Scotch whisky was distilled in the 1940s and matured for more than seven decades.
Beginning with fragrances of honey sweetness, peach, and apricot, yet evolving into bolder medicinal aromas, with fresh tobacco, cloves, and eucalyptus. The palate is treated to another contrast of character, yet this time with a maritime feel giving an initial medicinal, salty taste that gives way to sweetness in the form of honey, and then an intriguing note of fresh oysters lingers that brings it back to Islay, along with the subtle peat smoke on the mouth drying finish.
For nearly 200 years, our distillery has been standing proudly by the sea, embracing the elements in a land of extremes – that is the inspiration for the whisky we craft.
