The long, cool vintage has endowed this wine with inky, midnight color, perfume-like aromas, and elegant flavors of black fruit that's rich and juicy down to the core, with enticing layers of cocoa, black tea, spice, subtle toast, and the kind of mouthfeel you only get with ripe, silky Stags Leap District tannins.
Boxler is widely considered one of the top producers in Alsace, although this small, meticulously run estate is often overshadowed by its larger, more famous neighbors (Trimbach, Humbrecht etc.). But that suits current winemaker/proprietor Jean Boxler just fine.
Beautiful clean garnet wrapped in a royal purple robe with violets, blueberries/raspberries with a gentle note of sweet vanilla. Medium-bodied with raspberries, blueberries, plums with bracing acidity, spicy-sweet vanilla/searing tannins on a moderately long finish.
Naturally semi-sweet red wine, made from Saperavi grape variety cultivated in Kvarelimicro zone of Kakheti region. It has dark pomegranate colour, a strong characteristic bouquet and aroma, with a gentle harmoniums and variety taste with lively fruit flavor.
This wine is very expressive with aromas of flowers and honey. The palate is fresh with great acidity, displaying clean tropical fruit flavors before the round, satisfying finish. Bottled after 6 months aging on lees in French oak barrels.
This is a big, bold Cabernet Sauvignon that explodes with black cherry, wild berry fruit and notes of chocolate and vanilla. The nose is slightly smoky. The body of the wine is rich in texture with bright, fresh finish.
The more limited cuvee, the 2007 Gigondas Terrasses des Dentelles, exhibits super precision, a terrific minerality that comes through the lavish amounts of black raspberry, blueberry, and spring flower characteristics, superb ripeness, a saturated ruby/purple color, full-bodied power, and admirable elegance, purity, and acidity.
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon opens, inky and brooding in the glass, with rich dark fruits and crème de cassis followed by whispers of crushed violets and baking spices. Devastatingly handsome blackberry and boysenberry flavors are complemented by dustings of mocha.
