Ruby, expressive nose of red fruits Full-bodied and round on the palate, the final fruit flavors. The story of the Domain begins way back in the middle of the 20th century with Benjamin Tourbillon's grandparents who were wine growers at Gigondas.
This châteauneuf du pape has a dark ruby red color and aromas of black fruits, oviles and spice. The palate is rich and full-bodied with flavors of blackberries, liquorice and cinnamon. A perfect accompaniment to red meat, roast turkey and cheese.
The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Les Hautes Brusquières (60/40 Grenache and Syrah) comes from a cooler terroir near the Mount Redon plateau and was brought up in oak tronconique tanks and demi-muids.
Brusset's 2022 Gigondas Les Hauts de Montmirail - an assemblage of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Mourvedre - features pretty strawberry and cherry shadings alongside hints of garrigue and dried spices.
Deep and bright ruby. Fruity and spiced. Reminiscent of ripe berries, morello cherry, warm spices (cinnamon, clove, nutmeg), truffles, game and cedar. Elegant and well balanced with mature flavours of leather, spiced forest fruits and roasted game.
Ripe white fruits with spice and acidity are well known in this wine. The textures and fruitiness enhance this the light aromas. The Barthe Family vineyard which has been under the same ownership since 1789, is the ideal place for producing white wines.
Boxler is widely considered one of the top producers in Alsace, although this small, meticulously run estate is often overshadowed by its larger, more famous neighbors (Trimbach, Humbrecht etc.). But that suits current winemaker/proprietor Jean Boxler just fine.
