Pale yellow with green tints. Rich and fresh Nose of citrus and white flowers aromas. Soft and round in the mouth, on the sweet side, the nice acidity gives almost a dry finish. Aromas of ripe white fruits, apricot and green apple.
Originating in the Jura region of France, the Grivot family settled in Vosne-Romanée right before the French Revolution. In 1919, Gaston Grivot sold his vines in less prominent areas to be able to buy a large plot in the grand cru Clos de Vougeot. He and his son, Jean, were some of the first students to graduate from Dijon University under the oenology program, and soon after they made their last name famous in the wine world.
Domaine Jean-Paul Balland Sancerre is a clear appearance with a pale yellow hue. Intense aromas at first, fine, very mild of ripe fruits (peach) with hints of citrus and fresh herbs.
With a southerly exposure, this 3.22 hectare vineyard is a mix of clay and lime. Oak barrels are used in fermentation bringing about soft and subtle tannins. The “Cellier aux Moines” parcel is very old with records dating back to 1258.
With a youthful red hue, the aromas of fresh strawberries jump from the glass followed by a thirst-quenching explosion of juicy fruits with an elegant touch of sweetness and a refreshing strawberry finish. Perfect as an aperitif or alongside casual fare. Great with spicy and exotic flavored dishes or as fun refreshment after a meal. Blended with Rosé from the South of France, wonderfully delicious and refreshing.
Maison Bernard Magrez settled in Châteauneuf first of all for the exceptional quality of its terroir, but also because Pope Clément V, a Bordeaux native who owned Château Pape Clément, became the first pope of Avignon. His summer residence was Châteauneuf du Pape, thus creating a very strong link with Château Pape Clément, Grand Cru Classé de Graves. Great wines always have a great history.
