Luminous Hills Vineyard Pinot Noir - We speak often about our preference for ripening fruit with light rather than heat. It is why we work with high elevation sites that take time to develop. In vintages where the sun is bountiful, we retain tension, clarity and delicacy. At Luminous Hills in this vintage those characteristics abound, and at the same time, the wine is is luxurious.
Brilliant crimson in color, Raeburn Russian River Valley Pinot Noir leads with pleasing aromas of baking spice and vanilla. From our estate located on Highway 246 in the north corridor of the Sta. Rita Hills and planted in 2016, the soils here consist of Elder series loams over marine sedimentary rock below. The pinot noir sits to the eastern side, and also the upper slope of the field, on the darkest, most clay rich soils on the property which are most conducive to producing exceptional pinot noir.
Johan Vineyard is an 85-acre, Demeter-certified biodynamic site in the Willamette Valley, south of McMinnville and west of Salem. This site is almost always our last Pinot pick of harvest. Although it's a relatively low-elevation site, due to its proximity to the coast and the winds that howl through the Van Duzer Corridor every summer afternoon, the fruit here tends to ripen later than in our other vineyards.

A long, lingering finish instills a lasting impression of rich, concentrated flavors.
