The color is a deep scarlet-red with lush aromas of blackberry bramble, nutmeg, and a hint of caramel. The wine is fresh and exuberant in the mouth with sumptuous strawberry jam, ripe black cherry, cranberry and warm gingerbread.
Medium red, a bit darker than the Coteaux Nobles. Less fruity and spicy on the nose today, with the strawberry and cherry aromas currently dominated by mocha, graphite and leather.
A classic ice-wine style. Deep golden color, with vibrant, pure fruit aromas of ripe apricot, pineapple, and lychee. The rich, voluptuous mouth feel yields fresh fruit flavors that are full bodied and sweet yet wonderfully fresh and lively due to the balanced acidity.
The Clos Electrique Rouge from 2021 is an astounding wine with notes of leather, porcini mushrooms, forest floor and a dose of plums bringing in the finish. Its perfect silky mouth and a nice round finish cry for a café 90’s Duck l’orange, chanterelles sautéed with butter and sherry, a Ribeye cooked to perfection or perhaps even cardboard.
The 2021 vintage marks the fortieth Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon release from Joseph Phelps Vineyards. This latest bottling highlights beautiful aromatics of dark fruit, cigar box, dried herbs, graphite notes and pain grille.
The Federalist Honest Red Blend pays homage to one of the most highly regarded American President’s of all time, Abraham Lincoln. A good entrance with flavors of dark fruits and spice. A rich round mouth feel with a long finish.
The Pinot noir was harvested coldand allowed to push a cap before getting one homogenizing pumpover as primary fermentation began. Ina year that was hot and drythere was a threat of heaviness, sothe wine saw minimal cap management, gentle press downs or pumpovers as the fermentation temperature peaked,and was pressed when dry.
The 2021 is the largest and most complex blend we've ever made with dozens of components from vineyards across the realm of Napa Valley. This vintage includes new vineyard sources from Calistoga, Rutherford and Oak Knoll AVA, allowing us to broaden our painter’s palette.
