The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon 1913 is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 7% Merlot. Deep garnet-purple in color, the nose bursts with bold notes of warm cassis, blackberry pie, chocolate mint and tobacco with wafts of cedar chest and potpourri. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, it has a solid frame of lovely, ripe, grainy tannins to support the bags of black fruit, finishing with impressive purity. 1,972 cases were made.
This 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is dense, pliant and wonderfully expressive. Ric Forman's wines are always on the restrained side, but the 2015 packs a good bit of punch.
The 2021 J. Lohr Estates Los Osos Merlot presents mature red colorwith a raspberry hue. Brambly fruit aromas of plum and pomegranate are integrated with a barrel signature of mocha and baking spice. Whole berry fermentation with a generous use of Malbec in the blend accentuates bright fruit tones on the palate, and leaves a lengthy finish. Made with 86% Merlot, 14% Malbec.
A deft balancing act between luscious black fruit and herbal notes of black olive and fresh mint—the two sides of merlot. Currently the softest and most expansive on the palate with loads of blackberry leading the way. Velvet. Remarkably long finish that echoes the depth of fruit. Textured for immediate drinking pleasure, but structured also to reward a decade in the cellar. Such a pleasure to be able to offer this special wine after a long absence.
Selected Cabernet Franc grapes are aged in small oak barrels for two years to create this deep and hearty vintage Port. Flavors of toffee, chocolate, and ripe cherry make this a perfect after-dinner accompaniment to fruit, dessert, and coffee.
