The 2017 “IX Estate” beams from the glass with a feeling of purpose and a sense of place. In its youth, this vintage has continually shown enhanced soil driven aromas such as iron and graphite along with the sappy wild sage that grows in the periphery of this site.
Johan Vineyard is an 85-acre, Demeter-certified biodynamic site in the Willamette Valley, south of McMinnville and west of Salem. This site is almost always our last Pinot pick of harvest.
The 2021 Rita Hills Pinot Noir is a wine of elegance and precision. Exotic, vibrant red fruits and dried flower aromas inform the palate that is vivid and very attractive. This will pair better with light or heartier dishes and although charming now, it will continue to improve over several years.
Our Chardonnay reflects the distinctive personality of Monterey vineyards, which give rise to juicy apple, guava and melon flavors. Whole-cluster pressing and a combination of barrel and stainless steel fermentation ensures that the creamy texture and caramelized sugar finish is balanced by a crisp acidity.
Medium red, a bit darker than the Coteaux Nobles. Less fruity and spicy on the nose today, with the strawberry and cherry aromas currently dominated by mocha, graphite and leather.
Dark plum color with a hue of crimson red. An opulent bouquet of blackberry, red currant, plum, and dark cherry fruit emerge from the glass. Blackcurrant, cherry, and spice intertwine for an exceptionally balanced palate.
The 2022 has aromas of Meyer lemon, toasted nuts and fig are supported by the underlying sweetness of honeysuckle. Far Niente Chardonnay is a blend of superlative Napa Valley vineyards, many of which are located in a little-known area called Coombsville, a cool growing region nestled in the rolling countryside and protected by the hills east of the city of Napa.
The Serra Pedace vineyard is a high-elevation site that was named after ancestors Frank and Rose Leonetti’s hometown in Calabria, Italy. The 2018 offers anise, tar and black licorice notes combined with suggestions of black cherry syrup on the nose.
The Avalon California Cabernet shows bright vibrant aromas of blueberry jam, strawberry tart, and boysenberries with hints of vanilla and toasted oak. A dash of Zinfandel give this wine a hint of spice that is followed by rich black cherries, red raspberries, and juicy ripe plums on the long smooth finish.
