A beautiful wine from a near-perfect vintage, this robust Cabernet Sauvignon shows balance and complexity - a blend of dark berry, generous oak notes, clove, and nutmeg. This is a supple and complex wine, full-bodied in style, with a punch of power, ripeness, and elegance from start to finish.
The inky purple/blue-tinged 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch Vineyard is more focused and tight, with pure aromatics of blue fruits, chocolate, graphite, and iron. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it shows the structured, concentrated, age-worthy style of the vintage and is a seriously good wine in the making.
Deep and bright red, this is an elegant mouthwatering, fruit forward wine. With grit and power it shows well the volcanic origins of the Meagre Soil on which it grows. Baked plum and cassis and black pepper.
Deep Blue is a blend of seven biodynamic or organically farmed vineyards in the Willamette Valley; Cassin, Roshni, Johan, Momtazi, Nemarniki, Finnigan Hill and Claygate. The vineyards and barrels we selected were chosen for their deeper, blue and black fruit attributes, as well as their lush and silky textures.
The 2013 Cariad Proprietary Red Wine, a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 9% Petit Verdot, shows great intensity, with a slightly more burning ember and scorched earthiness to it, giving it a more Graves-like character compared to the purity of the Tychson Hill.
Bright cherry, raspberry and strawberry notes greet the nose, along with fresh rose petals, baking spices and hints of earth. Bright acidity on the entrance combines with the showy red fruit and flavors of forest floor, rhubarb, sage and toast on the palate.
Rich, oaky and concentrated, this full-bodied, showy wine offers an abundance of baking spice, raspberry sauce and blackberry jam. It's chock full of fruit and maple flavors that are lifted by a good structure of moderate tannins.
