Angel's Envy Cask Strength Rye 2023 is a remarkable blend of two rye whiskey batches - cone batch spending three years in sauternes dessert wine barrels. And the second being transferred into new toasted oak barrels after initial maturation. By marrying the two, we found that the spicy toasted oak and sweet wine characters from each rye balanced each other perfectly - resulting in our first cask-strength rye whiskey.
NOSE: Heady virgin oak, bursting with lemon zest and sweet barley sugar, with delicious notes of apple and nutmeg. PALATE: A delightful sweetness, evoking memories of candied fruits and vanilla toffee, balanced with heather honey. FINISH: A satisfying light spice, with a rewarding burst of honeyed malt and sweet oakiness.
The Redbreast Kentucky Oak Edition is triple distilled in copper pot stills and matured in American Bourbon barrels and Spanish Oloroso Sherry butts. Then it’s finished for a minimum of 4 months in hand selected, air-dried American Oak from the Taylor family farm in Kentucky.

Alba refers to Quercus Alba, the type of American White Oak that are used to mature A’Bunadh Alba. Coincidently, Alba is also the Scots Gaelic name for Scotland. The English name refers to the light colour of the bark of some species. American Oak trees grow much faster than most European Oak species and can live for hundreds of years.
Tomintoul is owned by small independent distillers, Angus Dundee, who also own Glencadam distillery near Brechin in the east of Scotland between Dundee and Aberdeen.
