Very unique Herzog creation as the winery took some of their best Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and aged them exclusively on French oak that imparts flavors of vanilla and chocolate and even some clove and spice. This wine is intended to highlight the characteristics of French oak versus the American oak bottle Herzog also created.
Whispering Angel is a blend of Grenache, Rolle, Cinsault, Syrah, and Morvedre grapes. Grapes are harvested by hand, gently crushed, and soft pressed before being transferred to the winery for primary alcoholic fermentation. A second fermentation at low temperature lasts over two months, and the wine is finished with maturation on yeast lees for three months before bottling. 90% Glera, 10% Pinot Noir harvested in the province of Vicenza in the Veneto region of northern Italy.
