Joseph Zakon Winery, which produces Kesser wines, was founded in 1981. The Brookyln-born winemaker, and his wife Michelle, named the winery with a Kabbalistic approach. Kesser, which means “crown” in Hebrew, is the basis for leadership in Judaism. The wines are stylistically made for Kiddush, meaning“to make Holy.” Who better to lead Kiddush than the person wearing the Crown?

Mt. Amasa is made from grapes grown in the unique terroir of Yatir Forest. The wine was matured for 5 months in combination concrete amphorae, 500 liter oak barrels and stainless steel vats. Mt. Amasa is the meeting place between the Judean Hills, Negev and Judean Desert. 52% Viognier 33% Chenin Blanc 15% Roussanne.
The Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a dark purple wine and is full of forest fruit and eucalypt characters, together with more complex notes of vanilla, chocolate and tobacco. The depth of colour and complex aromas give an excellent indication of what this wine currently has to offer, and how it will develop in the bottle.
This special dessert wine is made from Gewürztraminer grapes, using ancient Madeira-style technology based on late harvest of fully ripe grapes, most of which are shriveled. The wine is aged in outdoor oak barrels for a year.
Grapes are harvested by hand, gently crushed, and soft pressed before being transferred to the winery for primary alcoholic fermentation. A second fermentation at low temperature lasts over two months, and the wine is finished with maturation on yeast lees for three months before bottling. 90% Glera, 10% Pinot Noir harvested in the province of Vicenza in the Veneto region of northern Italy.
For over 35 years, the Herzog and Watts families have worked together to grow spectacular Zinfandel in the Mokelumne River region of Lodi. This Zinfandel is crafted from vines up to 80 years old, capturing intense flavors and rich texture. The wine is balanced and not overly sweet, a style modeled after some of the most historic Late Harvest wines of France.

The Dry Creek Valley appellation features ancient hills with rocky soil that drains exceptionally well helping to stress the vines late in the growing season, and concentrate the flavors of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Dark, almost inky ruby red in color, with on the nose a powerful attack of sweet and spicy oak with notes of vanilla and cinnamon followed by jammy cherries and cloves.
