Salbide is a local name meaning "Horses' Path." It refers to the ancient routes leading from the vineyards across the nearby Sierra de Cantabria mountain range. The same mountains protect the very old vineyards from the strong northerly winds and allow the juicy-red tempranillo grapes to ripen perfectly.
Very nice deep ruby color, dazzling. Nose of black cherry, salted caramel, gingerbread. Full and indulgent on the palate with notes of brioche. Very nice impression of sweetness. Blend: 48% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Petite Verdot.
The nose is fruity, fresh, relatively fine and offers a fine concentration. It reveals notes of blackberry cream, plum and a hint of cassis jam associated with fine touches of chocolate, cardamom, a discreet hint of tea and a very fine / discreet hint of balsamic.

Extensive and meticulous blending work prior to configuring the final blend has yielded this vintage's white blend that combines tropical aromas with notes of pineapple, peach, honey, and light floral tones.
It is no surprise that this legendary estate, though more renowned for its powerhouse, appassimento-style reds, should also produce a stunning (though rarely seen) white.
In the glass, it has an intense ruby red color. On the nose, the bouquet is decisive with floral notes and hints of red berry fruit and a spicy aftertaste. The taste is soft and enveloping and the ever present tannins are never invasive.
Slightly sweet and aromatic, full of tropical fruit aromas, with Muscat flavors folded into delicate, pleasant floral notes. The Muscat of Alexandria grapes arrived to the winery in the morning after being mechanically harvested.
Rimapere, Baron de Rothschild, Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough: Pale gold with slightly green reflections. On the nose, bursting notes of ripe lemon, pink grapefruit, kiwi, as well as hints of freshly cut grass.
Two native varieties compose a natural marriage of white-flower blossom from mtsvane and persistent, fresh, and sapid fruit notes from kisi. The palate is smooth and velvety, refined and elegant, with a lingering and fresh finish.
The 2010 vintage has delivered a beautifully fragrant wine with layered aromas of blackberry, cassis, cinnamon cake, anise, cardamom, tobacco leaf, and mocha. On the palate, the entry is soft and smooth with blueberry and bittersweet chocolate flavors, as well as notes of red currant, cedar, and sweet spice.
