Kedem wines are produced using carefully selected grapes grown in some of New York State’s finest vineyards. The wines are produced in Kedem’s own wine cellar by the eighth generation descendants of the winery’s founder.
ForteMasso Nebbiolo Langhe comes from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, we are talking about a wine that best reflects the fruity characteristics of the vine, all thanks to the careful processing that brings out a great taste balance that facilitates gastronomic pairing.
The 2017 Gran Reserva Malbec is selected from old Vines from Mendoza and undergoes 15 months aging in new French and American oak. It integrates the oak with aplomb, the nose is vibrant and well-defined, with notes of cassis, blueberry and blackberry. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, silky tannins enhanced by a patina of dark chocolate-tinged black fruit. The texture of the wine will perfectly compliment many good meat dishes.
In the glass, this wine appears inky-black with a velvety core. On the nose, however, you are treated to the lightness of fresh violets, crushed blueberries, and cocoa.
A nice beef bouillon aroma sets a meaty tone, accompanied by more genteel aromas of dried rose petals and blackcap raspberries. There's a nice balance between the restrained black cherry, black tea and lemon flavors, and the wine's modest acidity and tannins.
Salbide is a local name meaning "Horses' Path." It refers to the ancient routes leading from the vineyards across the nearby Sierra de Cantabria mountain range. The same mountains protect the very old vineyards from the strong northerly winds and allow the juicy-red tempranillo grapes to ripen perfectly.
A densely saturated vibrant black/red color leads to a nose of pure black currants, at once inky yet penetrating. Studded with notes of dried thyme, anise and pipe tobacco, the aroma emerges as pure Cabernet.
