Karas means amphora in Armenian. Karas is a newly established winery in the West of Armavir Region. Located in Ararat Valley, between Mount Aragats and Mount Ararat, Armavir is the smallest and the most densely populated region in Armenia.
The ancient Georgian word "Gemieri" is translated as tasty and mainly referred to the definition of sweetness. The blend of tree red varietals Aleksandrouli, Saperavi and Malbec shows prominent red and black fruit mix, with light sweetness and balanced astringency. Food matching: ideal for drinking with baked ham and sausages. Serve at +14-16°C.

Mildian red dry wine is made from Saferavi in Kakheti, traditionally fermented in kvevri and aged in oak barrels. The drink has a deep burgundy color and a complex, rich aroma, in which oak tones from aging in oak barrels are felt with elements of lively fruit, licorice, blueberry, gin, tobacco and spices. The wine has a full, well-balanced, developed taste. It goes very well with barbecue, fried spicy meat dishes and kubdar.
Mildian red semi-sweet wine is made from Ojaleshi grapes, planted in Racha-Lechkhumi and traditionally fermented in kvevri. The drink has a deep, bright ruby color and aromas of lively fruit, ripe pomegranate and cherry, with pronounced ojalesh varietal notes. The wine is rich, full-bodied, elegant, with natural sweetness and salty acidity. It goes very well with light salads, cheeses and desserts.
Alain Graillot stumbled upon these vineyards and the Thalvin winery while bicycling in the Zenata region of Morocco between Casablanca and Rabat. It is a beautiful area with cool winds blowing off the Atlantic and no polluting industries. The Thalvin winery has been around since the 1920s and after some discussion, a deal was reached and Thalvin provided Graillot with parcels of Syrah vines to produce Syrocco.
