Mtevino Saperavi Qvevri Khashmi Red Dry 2019 is a captivating Georgian wine that embodies the essence of traditional winemaking. Crafted from the indigenous Saperavi grape and fermented in qvevris buried underground, this red dry wine from the Khashmi region offers a unique and authentic tasting experience.
The wine is dark garnet color with purple highlights. The wine aroma is dominated by shades of black currant, highlighted by notes of cherry and blackberry. The wine has a balanced taste, it can be traced combination of fruit and black berries. The finish is long and dry. Wine is served with meat, grilled, sliced cheese, it also served as an aperitif.
Alain Graillot stumbled upon these vineyards and the Thalvin winery while bicycling in the Zenata region of Morocco between Casablanca and Rabat. It is a beautiful area with cool winds blowing off the Atlantic and no polluting industries. The Thalvin winery has been around since the 1920s and after some discussion, a deal was reached and Thalvin provided Graillot with parcels of Syrah vines to produce Syrocco.
