Tasting Profile: A lighter-bodied, ruby-colored red, with tangy, fruity notes on the palate—cherries, damsons and the like. Richly flavored, with ripe tannins and some acidity. There is a slight, underlying spice to this wine.
Food Pairing: Kebabs, roasted veggies, spicy grilled fare, deli meats.
Beautifully fruit-driven with sappy cherry aroma; the palate is succulent and dense; with layers of mint and blackberries. After one week of maceration this wine is aged in neutral 2000-liter casks for nine months. Pair with mild to slightly spicy dishes with red meat as well as Spanish and Mexican food.
The red berry characteristics of the vinifera grape Cabernet Franc translate as an Icewine into strawberry like aromas and flavors. This Icewine is completely different from the white Icewines. Saperavo Qvevri is a red wine made from Saperavi grapes, grown in the Kakheti region. The grapes are crushed, macerated and fermented on the skins and seeds of qvevri for few months according to Kakhetian method of winemaking. This wine is of intense dark garnet-color with balanced and harmonious bouquet of ripe cherries, plums with long aftertaste.
The ancient Georgian word "Gemieri" is translated as tasty and mainly referred to the definition of sweetness. The blend of tree red varietals Aleksandrouli, Saperavi and Malbec shows prominent red and black fruit mix, with light sweetness and balanced astringency. Food matching: ideal for drinking with baked ham and sausages. Serve at +14-16°C.
