Campet Ste Marie Chardonnay 2019
Pretty aromas of stone fruit, citrus and oak spice lead to a round, fleshy, mouthful of Honeycrisp apple and baked pear flavors accented by notes of lemon curd and toasted nut. The fruit turns more white (peach, apricot, apple) on the finish with a touch of fresh butter and refreshing, vibrant, acids.
This Chardonnay has been selected by our winemaker from carefully selected vineyards in the south of the Pays d’Oc appellation, where the grapes are planted on steep hills, with limestone and clay soils, in cooler areas. Locally called “Campet” contributing to making a Burgundy style chardonnay it all starts with meticulously picking the grapes at optimal maturity, ensuring depth and character. The berries are then pneumatically pressed in order to extract only the very best juice.
