The prestige cuvée of the house, named in honor of founder Nicolas François Billecart, this 2012 represents the pinnacle of Billecart-Salmon's style. Crafted from Grand Cru vineyards, it is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and 40% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs, from a vintage regarded as one of the greatest of the decade.
On the nose and palate it reveals exceptional finesse with notes of orchard fruit, mirabelle plum, clementine, toasted almond, vanilla and brioche, with a vibrant, mineral backbone. The finish is long, generous and complex, with hints of sweet spice and cigar box, showcasing immense ageing potential.
