Azucar Semi Sweet Merlot
Merlot | Chile
Merlot can be produced into a range of styles from daily drinking to world-renowned and age-worthy, an easy-going red variety with generous fruit and a soft texture.
One of the largest wine-producing countries in South America, Chile is both a reliable source of budget-friendly wines and premium bottlings. In the 1550s, most probably, Spanish colonists Juan Jufre and Diego Garcia de Cáceres brought Vitis vinifera to Chile's Central Valley. But the contemporary wine industry in Chile is mainly the consequence of heavy investment in the 1990s.
