Alemany i Corrio Principia Mathematica 2015
Peach and apricot fruit with a nutty, creamy texture. Dry, rich yet perfectly balanced and fresh. Finishes with beguiling hints of spice and honeysuckle. A great match with seafood but it’s a far more versatile wine and would work well with grilled pork sausage or even roasted lamb chops finished with a sprinkling of fresh rosemary!
Irene Alemany and Laurent Corrio met whilst working in Burgundy, which had a huge impact on their wine making ethos. The couple then spent some time working in California, before Irene’s father convinced them to bring the wine making skills that they had developed back to the Penedes and to see what they could do with some old family vines. Abandoning all forms of chemical treatment and fertilizers, applying a fierce green harvest they rapidly reduced the yields to around 2500 tons per hectare and made their first wine, Sot Lefriec in 1999.
