Founded in 1840, H. Lun's grapes ripen on the southern slopes of the Italian Alps. Mountain breezes, warm sun, and cool nights result in elegant purity, and classic varietal character.

Bottled by H. Lun, the oldest privately owned winery in South Tyrol established in 1840. It was owned by the Bracchetti family from 1976 to 1998 and then sold to Cantina Girlan, a winegrowers cooperative, where it is now run as an independent enterprise. Cantina Girlan itself was founded in 1923 by 23 vintners congregating at a historic country estate (dating back to the 16th century) in the village of Girlan in the Alto Adige region. Its vineyards are located at altitudes from 820 to 1,804 feet above sea level, in different soil types that form an ideal environment for growing numerous native and international varieties. Today, Cantina Girlan has 200 winegrowing members with a total area of 544 acres of vineyards in the best growing zones of the Oltradige and Bassa Atesina regions.
