World Whiskey Society is proudly offer this fine example of the Distiller’s art as a special selection from our oldest stocks of Whisky. No water is added to reduce its strength, as the angel’s share has already taken care of that. No caramel coloring is added, so that you can see its pure and natural color. We have chosen to bottle this Malt without chill-filtration in the traditional style which does not remove nose, proteins and important taste factors – again as we prefer the full, natural resonance of the original. Malt Whisky to come through in all its elements. As you can see on the label of this bottle, it is one of a very restricted offering, which when consumed, is unrepeatable.
COLOR
Yellow honey gold.
NOSE
Beautifully soft nose with honey sweetness and Madagascan vanilla to the fore. Underneath comes caramelised apple crumble with blackberries, soft baking spices and lovely whisps of fresh stoned fruits like peach and apricot. There is a smooth balance on the nose as would be expected and desired in a marque of this age. Everything you expect and need from Macallan.
PALATE
Light and delicate with a rich buttery creaminess followed by soft spice that builds and elegantly develops. Not as sweet as the nose suggests, due to the drying nature of the spicy oak, but the crispness of red apple, orange keep everything vibrant. Slowly the spice diminishes to polished leather with a milk chocolate hint with a little meadow florals. Well balanced and velvet smooth.

FINISH
Long with a soft spice over a light but rich orange.
