Wolffer Estate Cabernet Franc 2019

75.5% Cabernet Franc, 23% Merlot and 1.5% Petit Verdot. Wolffer Estate Vineyard & Stables, in the heart of the Hamptons, was established in the 1980s by Christian Wolffer. Their unique Long Island soil combined with the Atlantic breeze cultivates the highest-quality, sustainably farmed grapes. These grapes inspired the winemaker to create uniquely concentrated and elegant wines to fit every occasion and palate.

Dark red brick in color, this wine is very aromatic, with notes of black cherry jam, hints of prune, and sandalwood on the nose. Lots of bright fruit fill the mouth, backed by fine tannins and lively acidity. Well-integrated oak and wonderful minerality and spiciness round out the wine as it finishes with elegance and playfulness. Serve slightly below room temperature. This wine is an excellent match for flank steak, pizza or rich pasta dishes, as well as a variety of cheeses. Its elegant tannins make it an able companion to flavorful fish like arctic char, bluefish, or salmon. A very versatile red.
