Blackberry, cocoa licorice on the nose. Full-bodied palate with fig and plum fruit, chalky tannins, mineral and chaparral notes on the finish.
The 2018 vintage show lovely aromatics of dark fruit, clove, black pepper, vanilla and toasty oak. Rich in the mid pallet, this wine coats the mouth. With a long finish this is a big wine and it will only get better with time. The soft integrated tannin and long finish draw you back for the next sip. Drink now, or age for 5-8 years.
Fragrant earthiness lies beneath rich black cherry and plum flavors in this full-bodied, deep-colored wine. Mocha, cardamom and baked cherry enhance the wine's refreshing acidity and powerful tannins that find harmony on the lingering finish.
A compelling wine, with expressive blackberry and briary underbrush aromas and refined yet evocative cherry, smoky mint and pepper aromas that linger toward plump tannins.
Oakley Road Zinfandel is planted on the same sandy slopes as the Oakley Road Mataro. These vines, planted around 1900, are on their own roots.
For over 35 years, the Herzog and Watts families have worked together to grow spectacular Zinfandel in the Mokelumne River region of Lodi. Optimally ripened with a firm grasp on continuous, slightly juicy, blackberry fruit and showing an uncommon sense of sophistication and crafting at every stop along its way, Green & Red's Heminway Estate Reserve is a deep, beautifully balanced, moderately full–bodied Zin that claims more layered complexity than most. It is a generous, yet carefully measured effort, with great fruity reserve, and, well guaranteed to age famously for no fewer than another half-dozen years, it is so nicely polished that it will shine at the table tonight.
Eight Spur Zinfandel displays loads of bright strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry flavors with hints of cinnamon, tobacco leaf and vanilla. Medium-full bodied with mouthwatering acidity, and fine-grained tannins, the finish is opulent and long.
