Picked from the "Zuckerberg" plot of vines on the Niedermenniger Herrenberg, harvested early to catch maximum freshness and vitality, it combines cool marine character and a touch of creaminess with a firm, lip-smacking finish. In 1992 Thomas Haag, the son of the celebrated Brauneberg winemaker Wilhelm Haag, took over the Schloss. It was already very good, but Thomas has made it a Champions League domain by working hard. According to the Gault Millau, it belongs to the very best in Germany. And the only domain in Germany to receive the highest award in all guides! The suppleness and drinkability are trademarks of Schloss Lieser, such elegance and above all the temptation to swallow a wine can be found at few other producers. In short, a must have!
Delicate whiffs of orange blossom and tangerine zest intensify on the palate of this off-dry Riesling. While racy and lithe in body, it penetrates on the palate with juicy white grapefruit and apricot notes.
Hailing from the Pfalz region, Kurt Darting’s Nonnengarten Kabinett is pure drinking pleasure. A classical kabinett, but not too sweet, it shows ripe, stone fruit aromas and a burst of ripe citus on the palate framed by crisp acidity.
More complex flavors including honey and ripe tropical fruits are present with a well balanced sweetness. Soft citrus notes are peeking through and complement the balanced acidity in the wine.
The 2021 Ried Loibenberg Loibner Riesling Smaragd is deep intense and ripe on the nose but also pure and fresh with notes of crushed stones and tropical yellow stone fruits. Dense and intense on the substantial palate this is a full-bodied concentrated and sustainably structured Loibenberg with great intensity grip and mineral tension. The finish is very long intense and quite powerful and still dominated by its ripe fruit.
From a mix of younger and older vines of 5-40 year old vines planted various plots closer to the river on alluvial soil and sand. Hand harvested, whole bunch pressed with a few hours of skin contact in pneumatic press Natural ferment takes place in mix of older large format cask (500-5000L) and stainless steel followed by around 3 months on full lees with no battonage.
