In order to be a representative of the whole Danube appellation KAMPTAL, vineyards and grapes from the lower part of the valley, as well as grapes from the upper and higher altitude part of valley are used. The grapes from the lower part bring the maturity, whereas grapes from the upper part of the valley brings us the freshness in this wine. The ‘classical’ KAMPTAL wine is low in Alcohol (11,5 – 12,5%) and has a pleasant but not obtrusive aroma and fruit character and therefore is a perfect food companion.
Beautifully fruit-driven with sappy cherry aroma; the palate is succulent and dense; with layers of mint and blackberries. After one week of maceration this wine is aged in neutral 2000-liter casks for nine months. Pair with mild to slightly spicy dishes with red meat as well as Spanish and Mexican food.
Pale lemon in color with aromas of orange blossoms, green apple and slate on the nose. Clean minerality on the palate with notes of Acacia honey and straw.Located in the village of Mollands in northern Kamptal, the Hager Matthias estate is comprised of 12.5 hectares.
